KR, here are some snaps of a genuine Boer bandolier, showing some features you may find helpful.
Buckle - usually two pins, no roller, solid brass
Holes in pouches - should show signs of use and accept a clip of 7mm ammo. Many were later used for .303 ammo which is 7.7mm.
Name or initials - very often present, even more often than on rifles. A burgher's kit was issued to him personally and chances of a replacement from the commissariat were slim, so they routinely marked their kit.
