Hi I'm researching one of my relatives who was in the Army from 1888 - 1902. I'm not entirely sure if he even served in the Anglo Boer War but this was the only forum I could find who may possibly help me. I have his service record but my knowledge on this era of British history is almost none and with the difficulty of reading the hand writing from the time, i am at a lost at what I'm looking at. His name is Harry Taylor and was with the York and Lancaster regiment, 3rd battalion I believe. On his records it has the stamp of Natal & Zululand. I've attached some of what I think are the most important parts of the record ( Credit to ancestry). I would be really thankful if anyone could help.

Welcome to the forum.
Having had a look at the documents you kindly provided. I believe the paperwork is part of a court martial report. There is a mention of a Private Harry Taylor regimental number 2569. I have enclosed some additional paperwork for your research. He seems to have been a naughty boy during his service. Although, his papers do not record a time served in South Africa during 1899 to 1902 you can see he was recalled in 1899. In my humble opinion I believe he did return to South Africa during the Boer War with the 1st Battalion York and Lancaster regiment and was present at the Relief of Ladysmith. If I have the right chap? He was entitled to a Queens South Africa medal with 5 clasps.
Orange Free State, Transvaal, Cape Colony, Relief of Ladysmith and Laings Nek.
