A very new member not even sure whether my registration actually worked or not. Any way I am researching my Great Grandfather Private Harry Page reg number 4625 1st battalion Royal Sussex, E Company according to the South Africa War Medal Roll received A War medal plus clasps for action at Johannesburg, Wittebergen, Diamond Hill and Cape Colony. I am visiting South Africa in August and will visit the Boer War Museum in Bloemfontein not sure I will find too much, obviously nothing specific, has anybody any pointers as to what may be there? Visited in 2012 and walked Diamond Hill and took a few pictures unfortunately the other clasps are too general and do not indicate places to visit where information on the Royal Sussex may be available again has anybody any pointers for places of interest.

Welcome here, I took a very brief look at Page and he seems to have been a fairly typical 1st Battalion fellow, he sailed out to South Africa from Malta with his battalion, they had a hard march up to Pretoria with Ian Hamilton, interestingly, I note his father was also Harry Page.
Not a lot I can suggest to you really, if you return to SA, I'd perhaps put myself in Hamilton's shoes and recreate that wretched "march" anyway I wish you good luck.
