When using the site I keep being timed out, receiving the following response which seems to place the issue outside my court. Am I alone? Or do I need to buy a new PC or "attack" BT/EE?

Save your pennies.
You are not alone.

Dave...

PS. This message came up whilst trying to reply to your post.

This has been an intermittent issue for about a month now, generally worsening as the day goes on. Coupled with this, a fair number of images are either taking forever to load or are not opening at all. Some people’s avatars are affected as well.

I imagine all of this it putting members off posting. In the afternoons/evenings it can take me an hour or more to load a post with multiple images, as the writing/editing page keeps freezing.

I believe David is looking to move the site to a new platform, which should hopefully sort things out.

Gentlemen - thanks for the reassuring replies that I am not alone.

I suspect the performance of the site is being affected by its success - when David set it up there were far fewer users and thus far fewer posts. Even the earliest posts are still accessible - just been reading one 13 years old with interest, resulting in downloading some info regarding the happenings at Yster Spruit on 25 February 1902.

I know nothing about setting up and running websites but I presume there are some costs, so perhaps I do need to spend some pennies - the last time I tried to use the donation facility on the home page it did not seem to work but will have another go.

Yes, experiencing similar issues. Having to submit a couple of paragraphs and then go to 'edit' to add more. Otherwise, will lose content submitted. Very frustrating!
My thoughts with David as he strives to find a solution.

Donation appropriate payday next I think.....

Regards,

Steve
